Sound Foundation has designed this site so it is simple to use, purchasing and listening to music were created with you in mind. Below is a complete list of the links on our site and information on how to use them, if you have any problems the answer should be found here. This website has been configured to work with all browsers, we recommend using safari for Mac because it looks the best, it will also work well with fire fox, Netscape and internet explorer.

Feel free to look around the site, you may browse the artists by clicking on music. Music will direct you to a page where a random selection of the albums on the site will appear, you can view more albums simply by refreshing the page. In this section you will also be able to search for music via genre eg: Rock, Jazz Alternative etc.

You will also notice that in the top right corner there is a search function titled search SF, there you can enter any word, album or artists name and see what results you get.

Once you have paid for your music, you will be directed you to our downloads area, from there you will be shown a record of all your purchased tracks, these tracks will remain in your log in area forever so if your hard drive crashes has a breakdown and you loose your music you can always log back on and download your personal selection again.

Please note that we also record your ip address, this is for security reasons, to ensure your personal details are kept secure, and it let's us know who is downloading music from Sound Foundation, and if they have paid for it.

When you log in to the downloads page you are given options as to how you would like to download your music. This page contains all the albums and songs you've bought. To download, click the green download icon on the left. Albums may be downloaded in full in one archived zip file (broadband Internet access recommended), or as separate songs (click "show/hide songs").

If you download the full album from your download area it will appear on your desktop as a .zip file, depending if you use a mac or a PC opening your downloaded tracks is easy you just need stuffit expander.

You will see that the icon has now changed and when you double click the new icon it will open the compressed file which will then appear on your desktop so you can access your music.

If you want to keep a record of your downloaded music in the form of an album cover, simply drag the artists graphic of our website onto your desktop and keep it in the folder that you have your music, each graphic is called main.jpg so we recommend that you re-name it after the artists who's music you have just downloaded, you can also then import the album cover into iTunes as well.

This section is dedicated to companies, non-profit and charitable organisations that we support. they also represent establishments that offer support to musicians, bands songwriters, people and nature.
